Crumbs TV - Prince William's chocolate biscuit wedding cake

Fancy a laugh?
Here is the first episode of Crumbs TV where we make our own version of Prince William's McVitie biscuit "groom" cake. It's not sophisticated, it's not pretty, but it's here.
Have a look:

This is the recipe:
There are loads of different variations of this recipe, but we just crushed a large packet of digestives with a rolling pin in a bag. Then we melted 225g of good quality milk chocolate in a large bowl in the microwave (if you cut the chocolate up it will melt quicker) and when molten we stirred in a 397g tin of condensed milk, before adding the biscuits and mixing it all up with a spoon.
Next squidge the mixture into a loaf tin - if you mark out portions with a knife now it is easier to cut later - and put into the fridge for an hour at least. It keeps for a long time and is perfect for those moments when you fancy something sweet but are not quite sure what.
Other recipes use melted butter or golden syrup, but we've not tried those. You can also add dried cranberries, raisins, nuts, Maltesers, honeycomb or marshmallows.

  2. "I can't imagine many people at the royal wedding being encouraged to take pickaxes."

I have tears in my eyes right now. Top stuff.

  3. Brilliant, I love it! Won't there be people with ceremonial swords at the wedding? They might come in handy for cake cutting, in fact perhaps that's what they're designed for... "here you are, Lord So and So, here's your special McVities Cake cutting sword".
Can't wait for the next episode...
