Lifesaver

This stuff has saved my life on more than one occasion. Pasta in three minutes. Many a time I’ve wondered why the kids are going mental, looked at the clock and realised it’s quarter past teatime and their dinner is not even a formulated thought in my head, let alone on the table.
At times like that I whip out Mr Buitoni’s finest pasta, some butter, grate some cheddar cheese and voila, dinner is ready in under five minutes. OK, so it’s not the most nutritionally sound meal they’ve ever had, but you don’t hear them complaining.

  1. I do this a lot, and am a grown-up! Quite often add some grilled cherry tomatoes to the mix. Another quickie is chop an onion, soften in oil/butter, add cottage cheese, and more grated cheese like cheddar. Add milk to slacken if too thick. Found several variations of the cottage cheese version on a food site where it was mentioned by people who been brought up by East European/German parents.
